reflections on exercise + smoothie recipe

Summer session is coming to an end, and starting next week our university's amazing rec center is closing down for maintenance and cleaning until fall session starts.

This was after one of my bootcamp classes!

I decided to skip the last yoga class today in favor of doing a plank workout and elliptical.

I used this guide on Shape for my plank workout. Planks are actually one of my favorite moves! Which reminds me of a talk I had with a classmate that also regularly goes to the rec center, about which exercises we like and dislike...and of course it's different for everyone! Here is a small list of my preferences:

Like: planks, lunges, russian twist with medicine ball, cycle/spin, zumba

Dislike: push ups, burpees, jogging/running

When I got home I really felt like having a smoothie, and wanted to try a recipe I bookmarked from Fitness magazine.

Recipe:
1 cup unsweetened coconut milk
1 frozen banana
1/2 cup berries (I used frozen strawberries)
2 tsp honey

It was good, but I think I'm going to stick with my usual blend: 1 banana, 100% pom juice, frozen berries/peaches/mango and spinach. The coconut milk just doesn't deliver the taste I want from a smoothie, hahaha!

I am still feel like I'm at the beginning of my fitness/health journey, but with resources like blogs, pinterest and magazines I gain more motivation.
A few of my favorite health/fitness blogs:

Thanks for this post!!! It's been a great muse for me today!! I am glad you're on a healthier-living plan. I'm currently struggling with insanity. The exercises are hard, and my cardio condition it's not optimal, but I'm making an effort! I also dislike push-ups!!! XOXOX
