diy: easy garland makeover

These days I've been trying to do at least one creative thing a day, whether it's a small diy project, a drawing exercise, etc. The other day, I took this "congrats" garland and painted over it with black paint. I remember seeing this done on another blog with black spray paint (which seems much easier!), but I can't for the life of me remember which blog it was. I was scouring my pinterest, hellocotton and bloglovin' but no luck. If someone knows, please link in the comments so I can give them some credit for the idea!

I was also inspired by Israel's black garland over on A Merry Mishap blog.

It's a nice and simple addition to my empty walls. I'd like to use the "happy" from a "happy birthday" garland and do the same thing!
